The arcade cabinet has two top-modules that were used for holding the speakers and a lighted Racing Jam marquee. These modules will be the perfect place to keep our X-Boxes!
The topmodules were put on hold a short moment. We rebuilt the powersupply a bit more. A 12V-module was integrated to supply the neons and cooling-fans with power. We also upgraded and renewed the cooling in the powersupply itself. Two variable-speed 80mm fans do the trick.
Finally, the top-modules. These used to have a decorated plexiglass-frontface with flurocent lighting behind it. We removed all of this and started planning how the X-Boxes and neons should be mounted.
Look further down on this page to see what design we ended up with. But first, sound! The original speakers were sorry excuses for speakers and now they're old as well! We threw them out and mounted 6 by 9 inches 3-way car audio speakers from Alpine.
We sent the original plexiglass-front from our arcade cabinet to a local car-glass-shop, and they quickly provided us with blank duplicates. These were screwed to the topmodule with piano-hinges and locks were integrated at the bottom to prevent theft of our belowed X-Boxes. The placement makes swapping games a simple operation.
